Tractor and Trailer Accident on I-77

Driver escapes serious injuries, as several truck drivers stop to get a fellow driver out of his in tangled rig  after he looses control of his truck. The driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel sending his tractor trailer down the embankment. According to witnesses after the driver crossed the bridge at exit 14 North bound he went off to the right crossing the on ramp for the north bound traffic and then through the guard railing and down over the embankment. The Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department quickly dug a trench and put down  oil dry to keep about eighty gallons of fuel reaching the creek below. The Virginia State Police investigated the accident.
