Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department Responds To

Tire Fire on Poplar Camp Road

Second Fire was a tire fire at 3960 Popular Camp Road the residence of Sandy Cochran in Carroll County, when we were responding to the Fire from Hillsville you could see black smoke rolling up in the sky several miles away the Chief quickly had Cana, Barren Springs, and the City of Galax Fire Departments responding to the Fire.  Lines were laid from the road to the back of the house and garage about three hundred yards away, the Virginia State Police, Carroll County Sheriff Departments along with Hillsville Police Department assisted with traffic control at Various locations as the fire was being fought. The Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department and responding units fought the fire with Foam and was able to put the approximate count of two to three hundred truck and car tires under control.
