Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department Responds to a Plane Crash at Twin County Airport

Female pilot of this Skylark plane escaped serious injuries, on September 13, 2009,around 2:00pm when she tried to land at the Twin County Airport, she told authorities that as she was descending the engine cut out on her so she tried to land it in the field just before the runway, as she hit nose down the plane flipped over on her. When EMS arrived on the scene she had gotten out of the plane, they  checked on her and then transported her to the Airport where she refused treatment. The Virginia State Police are investigating the accident.
