Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department Responds to a Motor Vehicle Accident on Interstate 77

Today, April 27, 2009, around 4:00 PM this camper was traveling North on 77 pulling a trailer with two race cars ( Nova Funny Car and a Sportsman Dragster ) inside the trailer , when the high winds caused the trailer to shift which resulted in the driver loosing control of his camper around the 11 MM . The camper was completely demolished as the trailer came loose causing the camper to roll side by side with the trailer. Driver Steve Junior Mikus of Ashley MI. was able to escape injuries and with no cuts to his body, he said wearing his seatbelt saved him from being tossed around in the vehicle as it rolled over several times. The Virginia State Police investigated the accident.
