Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department Responds to a Single Vehicle Accident On Interstate 77

Two children escape serious injuries because they were properly secured in their child restraints, when the HVFD and the Carroll EMS arrived on the scene of a roll over on I-77 at MM 13 South Bound around 10:45 AM this morning they had to pry open the passenger side of the Mountaineer 4x4 to gain access to the passenger and the children in the back seat. According to witnesses the driver of the Mountaineer 4x4 from Ohio ran off the shoulder on the right side of the interstate, when he tried to correct the 4x4 he swerved causing the 4x4 to roll over several times resting against the guard rail. One Female adult and the two children in the back seat plus the Female passenger were transported to the Hospital by ambulance. The Virginia State Police are investigating the accident.
