Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department Responds to a Barn Fire on Birchtree Road

The Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire, the structure was a barn located on Birchtree Road just off of Stable road in Fancy Gap, Va..the fire was fully involved, the property owner decided to let it burn due to about 200 round bales of hay stored in the barn and it posed no threats to any other building. The owner of the barn was Charlie Sumner. During this time a second tone went off for a house fully involved just about two miles from the barn.
